The Licensing Hearing Sub Committee was scheduled to consider an application for a new premises licence for La Pizza in Radcliffe. The committee was also scheduled to review the minutes from its previous meeting.
Application for a Premises Licence for La Pizza
The Licensing Hearing Sub Committee was scheduled to consider an application for a premises licence for La Pizza, located at 106 Water Street, Radcliffe, M26 4BE1. The application, made under the Licensing Act 20032, was for the grant of a licence to permit the sale of late-night refreshment between 23:00 and 02:00, Monday to Sunday, and for the premises to be open to the public between 14:00 and 02:00, Monday to Sunday.
The report pack indicated that two representations had been received from interested parties opposing the application. These representations raised concerns regarding the potential for increased public nuisance and a rise in crime and disorder. Specifically, objections were made about potential noise from customers gathering outside, increased delivery vehicle activity, and the accumulation of litter. Concerns were also voiced about the premises becoming a late-night gathering point, potentially leading to disorder, and about public safety due to narrow pavements. The objectors, including Councillor Alan Quinn, Ward Councillor for Radcliffe West3, requested that the proposed variation be refused, arguing that the existing 23:00 closing time provided a reasonable balance.
The applicant, LA Pizza Limited, had submitted an operating schedule outlining the steps they intended to take to promote the four licensing objectives: the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm. This schedule included plans for CCTV, staff training, noise and odour control, and responsible waste management. The applicant proposed that customer entry would cease at 23:00, with all subsequent business conducted via delivery.
The committee was scheduled to consider the application, the representations received, and the applicant's operating schedule. The report pack outlined the possible decisions the committee could make: to grant the application as requested, to grant it subject to conditions, to amend or modify existing or proposed conditions, or to refuse the application.
Minutes of the Last Meeting
The Licensing Hearing Sub Committee was also scheduled to review and approve the minutes from its previous meeting, which was held on 17th September 2026. The minutes from that meeting detailed the consideration of an application for a premises licence for Pizza Go Go, located at 56 Bury New Road, Prestwich, M25 0JU. During that previous meeting, the committee had heard representations and evidence before resolving to grant the application with amended conditions.
