The Pride in Place Programme (PiPP) Board for Crook North/Tow Law is scheduled to meet on Friday 6 November 2026. The meeting's agenda includes a review of the draft investment plan and associated documents, as well as updates on recruitment and next steps for the programme.
Review of Draft Investment Plan and Associated Documents
A significant portion of the meeting is scheduled to focus on the Review Draft Investment Plan and Associated Documents
for the Crook North/Tow Law area. This will involve a recap of the programme's draft vision and a review of priority projects identified across the boundary. Attendees will examine the draft Investment Plan, which is intended to outline progress to date, detail next steps, and specify requirements for its completion and submission. The report pack indicates that this review will include a look at the Draft Investment plan Years 1-4 table
and various sections of the draft plan, such as The 10 Year Vision,
Place and People local context Stanley South,
Community Engagement,
What we have learned,
Priorities for change,
and Delivering the Vision.
The Programme Update
document, authored by Tony Hanson, Corporate Director of Regeneration, Economy and Growth, provides further context. It states that Significant progress has been made in gathering evidence and community feedback, which has fed into the vision and investment plan.
The draft 10-year vision is currently out for consultation, with an online survey running from 19 October to 1 November 2026. The document also notes that 8 Projects are currently being estimated to feed into the 4 year investment plan ready for submission to MHCLG on 30th November.
The Board will be recommended to Approve the draft investment plan ahead of MHCLG submission on 30th November 2026.
The Crook North/Tow Law area, as part of Phase 2 of the Pride in Place Programme, is set to receive up to £20 million in funding support over the next 10 years. This funding is directly linked to the Investment Plan. To date, £541,066 in capacity funding has been released to aid in the formation of the Board, recruit dedicated Community Economic Development Lead Officers, and support the local engagement process.
Recruitment Update
The meeting agenda also includes an item on the Recruitment Update.
The Programme Update
document indicates that following the agreement of a new boundary area and a recommendation for further recruitment of Board Members by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), five applications have been received and reviewed.
Next Steps
The Next Steps
section of the agenda will likely cover the immediate future of the Pride in Place Programme. The Programme Update
document outlines that the 10-year vision and Pride in Place Plan
are to be submitted to MHCLG by 30 November 2026. Further actions include the Creation of Working Groups across the priority intervention areas,
the Continuation of community engagement, public meetings which will include feedback of their priorities and potential projects,
and the Co-Design of funding application forms for any agreed grant schemes.
Chair's Update
An update from the Chair is scheduled, which will include a discussion on the Nolan Principles.
These are a set of seven principles designed to provide a framework for public life and are intended to promote standards in public office.
Other Scheduled Discussions
The meeting is also scheduled to cover the minutes of the previous Board meeting held on 25 September 2026 and any matters arising from those minutes. An update on recruitment is also on the agenda. The meeting will conclude with a discussion of any other business and the confirmation of the date and time of the next meeting.
