The General Licensing Committee of Cyngor Gwynedd Council met on 10 June 2024 and agreed to grant a licence for the sale of alcohol at the Eagles Hotel in Beddgelert. They also agreed their procedure for dealing with taxi licensing applications.

The committee considered an application from the Eagles Hotel in Beddgelert for the grant of a premises licence for the sale of alcohol. The application was considered in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003 ¹. The meeting heard from the applicant's representative, who explained that the application was for a new licence, as the previous licence had lapsed. The representative stated that the hotel had been closed for some time, but that it was now under new ownership and that the new owners were keen to reopen the hotel and to start trading as soon as possible.

We have been working closely with the police and the licensing authority to ensure that all of the necessary requirements are in place.

There were no objections to the application from any of the responsible authorities, and the committee was satisfied that the applicant was a fit and proper person to hold a premises licence. The committee therefore resolved to grant the application, subject to the conditions set out in the report.

Taxi Licensing Procedure

The committee considered a report on the procedure for dealing with taxi licensing applications.

The purpose of the report is to seek the Committee’s views on a draft procedure.
