Proposal: Mr Kasap applied for a street trading consent to operate a kebab van, Tigers Kebab, offering hot and cold food and drinks from Monday to Sunday, between 16:00 and 23:00 hours. Consultation and Objections: The application underwent a 28-day consultation period as per Tewkesbury Borough Council's Street Trading Licensing Policy. Objections were received from local Ward Councillors Cheryl Agg and Nigel Adcock, and Southam Parish Council. The objections, detailed in Appendix D - copy of objections, cited concerns about increased litter, traffic congestion, public safety, health implications, unfair competition for established businesses, and potential noise and odour issues.
Support: Cheltenham Rugby Club supported the application, highlighting the need for additional catering facilities to manage the increased number of visitors due to the new Artificial Grass Pitch (AGP). The club's letter of support is available in Appendix E - letter of support from CRC_Redacted.
Decision: After considering the objections and the support, the Sub-Committee decided to grant the street trading consent with specific conditions to mitigate the concerns raised. These conditions included the provision of waste bins, regular clearing of rubbish, and adherence to the club's policies and requirements.
