Strategic Partnership Update
The Cabinet reviewed the current arrangements with its strategic partners as part of the ongoing work on the Authority’s Medium Term Financial Plan (MTFP). The report presented sought approval for a Deed of Variation with one of the Authority’s partners. The decision was made to agree to the proposed settlement and to authorise the Director of Resources, in consultation with relevant Cabinet Members and officials, to conclude all necessary arrangements.
Councillor Carl Johnson highlighted the importance of this decision in ensuring the financial stability of the council:
This agreement is crucial for maintaining our financial health and continuing to deliver essential services to our residents.
The Cabinet also authorised the Director of Resources to commence and finalise consultations with affected employees and their Trade Unions regarding the transfer of staff under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE). This includes any other relevant legislation and matters related to the employees affected.
Additionally, the Director of Resources was given the authority to novate, extend, and procure any associated third-party contracts in consultation with the Director of Regeneration and Economic Development and the Head of Law.
