Use of Hackney's Household Support Fund Allocation

The meeting was scheduled to discuss plans for the use of Hackney's allocation from the Household Support Fund for the period of October 2024 to March 2025. This report was brought forward under a General Exception Notice because the announcement of further funding was only made on 2 September 2024, and the decision needed to be made by 30 September to avoid a gap in provision for residents needing emergency support with essentials like food and fuel. Councillor Carole Williams, Cabinet Member for Employment, Human Resources and Equalities, was the lead member for this item. The decision to use a General Exception Notice was made in accordance with Regulation 10 of The Local Authority (Executive Authority) (Meeting and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 and Part 6C Paragraph 11.6 of the Council's Constitution. This procedure was followed because at least 28 clear days notice was not given of the intention to take the key decision .¹
