The Hounslow South, Isleworth and Osterley & Spring Grove Area Forum meeting on Tuesday 19 November 2024 included a scheduled discussion of a range of issues, including updates on local traffic and transport schemes and an update on the Thames Water Teddington Direct River Abstraction Scheme. The meeting was also scheduled to include updates on maintenance programmes for local parks and highways.

Thames Water Teddington Direct River Abstraction Scheme

Thames Water was scheduled to provide an update on the Teddington Direct River Abstraction (TDRA) Scheme, including their plans to continue to engage with the local community.

The scheme has been controversial in Isleworth, where it is proposed to build a new pipeline to carry recycled water from the Mogden Sewage Treatment Works to a new discharge outfall on the River Thames.

Thames Water was also scheduled to answer questions from Councillors and residents.

Traffic and Transport

Finn Campbell, LBH Principal Transport Planner, and Paul Robinson, Team Leader Capital Projects & Network Management, were scheduled to provide an update on several transport-related issues, including the developing Hounslow Transport Strategy and an overview of Transport for London funded schemes being considered within the three Wards covered by this Area Forum.

Southwestern Railway was also scheduled to provide an update on services and local stations serving residents of the three wards.

Local Parks Maintenance Programme

The meeting was scheduled to include discussion of the winter maintenance proposals for all parks and open spaces in each of the three Wards.

Gaye Galvin - LBH Head of Parks Development and Green Infrastructure, and a representative from Lampton Services Greenspace were scheduled to attend the meeting to discuss the proposals.

Hounslow Highways

Sabeel Khan – LBH Head of Highways PFI and Ward Improvement, and Timothy Hurley - Service Director Ringway Hounslow Highways, were scheduled to update the meeting on Hounslow Highways summer and autumn 2024 work and proposals for winter and spring 2025.

The agenda states these updates will include information about weed removal, leafing and street tree planting for each of the three Wards.

Consultations

Ben Knowles- LBH Director of Communications, Culture and Engagement, and Carol Clapperton – LBH Head of Engagement and Events were scheduled to update the meeting on current LBH Consultations.

Open Forum

The Councillors for this Area Forum were scheduled to answer questions submitted to them by local residents in advance of the meeting and during the meeting.

The agenda notes that individual cases cannot be discussed during the public forum .

Other Business

The meeting was also scheduled to include updates on several other items of business, including:

• Suggestions of topics for future Area Forum meetings.
• Confirmation of the minutes of the meeting held on 20th March 2024.
• Ward updates and action plans.
• Any other business the Chair wishes to take on the grounds of urgency.

The next meeting of the Hounslow South, Isleworth and Osterley & Spring Grove Area Forum is scheduled to be held on Thursday 20th March 2025. The venue is to be confirmed.
