The meeting received a report on the work of the Partnership, including an update on the progress of the NWCSP Plan 2024 - 27, and its ring-fenced grant from the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion. The panel also received a report on a number of local initiatives that were intended to address crime and anti-social behaviour.

Review of the work of North Worcestershire Community Safety Partnership from March 2024 to date

The Crime and Disorder Scrutiny Panel received a report on the work of the NWCSP. This report was scheduled to include:

  • An update on the Partnership's three-year plan, which had been agreed at a meeting in February 2024 and set out the priorities that the CSP would focus on.
  • A description of the funding that had been made available by the Home Office through Police and Crime Commissioners to support Community Safety partners in implementing the Serious Violence Duty, and how this funding was being used in Redditch.
  • An update on the Safer Redditch group's activities and interventions, which are supported by Safer Neighbourhood Policing Teams, the Community Safety Team, and other community safety partners.
  • A report on the use of tools and powers in respect of anti-social behaviour, which had been requested by Elected Members of the Overview and Scrutiny Board as part of the implementation of the Council’s Anti-social Behaviour Policy in June 2020.
  • An update on the work of the Community Safety Team in monitoring and responding to local community safety issues. The report pack says that: > The team is often a first point of contact for residents and community groups with concerns about local crime and disorder issues and officers are able to call upon other community safety partners when solutions to these concerns require a multi-agency response.
  • A summary of the Community Safety Team's communications and social media campaigns, which are intended to promote key community safety messages and the work of NWCSP.
