The Liaison Meeting with Community Councils met to discuss a range of issues relating to community councils in Newport. The meeting was scheduled to include updates from Gwent Police and One Voice Wales, as well as discussions on legislation affecting community councils.
Community Safety Training
The minutes from the previous meeting of the Liaison Meeting with Community Councils held on 12 September 20241 record that the meeting was scheduled to receive a presentation on personal safety for elected members.
Senedd Boundary Review
This item was included on the Forward Work Programme at the previous Liaison Meeting with Community Councils. It was noted that:
The Senedd boundary review is open to public consultation and Democratic Services would share the links with Community Councillors to share with their residents.
One Voice Wales Update
One Voice Wales2 were due to attend the March meeting but had to cancel due to sickness. It was requested that they attend this meeting.
Police Update
An update from Gwent Police was scheduled to be provided verbally to the meeting.
