The committee considered a change of use application for 16 High Street, Rhymney, Tredegar. The Planning Case Officer confirmed that the proposal complied with Future Wales and Planning Policy Wales Edition 12. Councillor C. Cuss spoke in objection to the application. Despite the objections, the committee approved the application with the conditions in the Officer’s report, with 7 votes in favour, 4 against, and 1 abstention.

The final application discussed was for development on land at Long Barn, Argoed Uchaf Farm, Sunnyview, Argoed, Blackwood. The Planning Case Officer confirmed that the proposal was in line with Future Wales and Planning Policy Wales Edition 12. The committee unanimously approved the application with the conditions in the Officer’s report. Additionally, the applicant was advised about the impact on the Public Right of Way, ARGO/FP125/1, and the need to maintain public access and safety. The applicant was also reminded of the legal protections for bat roosts under The Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2010 and the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
