The application site is within the development boundary of Cleobury Mortimer and is not subject to any objections from statutory consultees. Appeal Decision - 23/00609/FUL - Land to the rear of 3, Longmeadow, Church Stretton

The committee will be asked to note the Planning Inspectorate's decision on an appeal in Church Stretton. The appeal was made against Shropshire Council's decision to refuse planning permission. The council refused permission for the erection of a dwelling because they considered that:

the proposed dwelling, by reason of its design, scale, siting, materials and proximity to the adjacent Grade II listed building, 3 Longmeadow, would result in an incongruous form of development that would fail to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the street scene or the setting of the adjacent listed building, contrary to Policies CS6 and CS15 of the adopted Shropshire Core Strategy (2011) and the provisions of the National Planning Policy Framework.

The appeal was dismissed.
