The Hertfordshire Police and Crime Panel will be provided with a report on the Police and Crime Commissioner's proposal to increase the policing element of council tax for 2025/26. The panel will also receive a report on the in-year financial position of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner as of the end of September 2024.

Council Tax precept for 2025/26

The Police and Crime Commissioner, David Lloyd, is seeking the views of the Police and Crime Panel on his proposal to increase the policing element of the council tax for 2025/26.

The precept proposal will increase the Band D Council Tax by £15.00 to £276.21. This represents a 5.7% increase on the 2024/25 Band D precept.

The Police and Crime Commissioner will make the final decision about the level of the precept in February 2025.

In-Year Financial Monitoring

The Panel will be provided with an update on the financial position of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

At the end of September 2024 the projected outturn position for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for 2024/25 was an underspend of £0.116m (1.3%).
