This meeting of Wyre Borough Council's Licensing Committee was scheduled to discuss taking action in response to two allegations that the proprietors of licensed Hackney Carriages had failed to properly maintain their vehicles.

The meeting was scheduled to consider whether to take action in response to an allegation that the proprietor of a Hackney Carriage licensed by the council was failing to properly maintain their vehicle.

The Local Government Act 1972 states that information relating to any individual can be considered exempt information, and therefore not be disclosed to the public. The meeting was scheduled to be held in private on the grounds that:

the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information
