Healthy Bite

The panel had to consider an application for a six month extension to the temporary street trading licence issued to Healthy Bite Chiswick Ltd for their stall, Healthy Bite. The stall is located adjacent to 253 Chiswick High Road.

Healthy Bite wished to continue to sell Falafel wraps, chicken wraps, Halloumi wraps, rice with vegetables, salads, soups, fresh juices, and soft drinks from 10am to 4pm, seven days a week.

Councillor Joanna Biddolph wrote to the council to object to the application, arguing that:

There are sufficient traders trading in the street, or at premises adjoining it, in the articles, things or services in which the applicant wishes to trade.

She also raised concerns about health and safety and cleanliness at the stall, and argued that the stall replicated the goods sold at numerous nearby shops.

A further two residents also wrote to object to the application. One of them argued that the stall would cause congestion, while the other raised concerns about food safety and hygiene.

Hounslow Highways and the council's Transport Team wrote to the council to support the application. The Transport Team requested that a condition be added to the license, requiring that deliveries to the stall should not involve vehicles mounting the pavement.

A number of residents and businesses in Chiswick wrote to the council in support of the application.
