The agenda for the North Central London Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on 03 February 2025 includes a discussion of the Health Inequalities Fund, a look at workforce issues in the area and a review of the Committee’s work programme for the year.

Health Inequalities Fund

A report pack submitted to the attendees included information about the Health Inequalities Fund and details about projects in the community that it supports.

Workforce Update

The report pack also included an update on workforce issues in North Central London, ¹ the last of which was on 29 January 2024.

Work Programme

The Committee will consider an outline of the 2024-25 work programme for the North Central London Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee. Included in the report pack was information about the Committee’s Terms of Reference:

“To engage with relevant NHS bodies on strategic area wide issues in respect of the co-ordination, commissioning and provision of NHS health services across the whole of the area of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington;

The report pack also included the possible items for inclusion in future meetings, these include:

• Smoking cessation & vaping
• The efficacy of online GP consultations
• Developing technology and its role in the management of long-term chronic conditions
• Strategic role of GP Federations
• Vaccination initiatives tailored to specific local needs in each NCL Borough including outreach work with community pharmacies
• Paediatric service review
• Primary care commissioning and the monitoring of private corporations operating in this area
• Increases in the number of people being charged for services that they were previously able to access free of charge through the NHS
• Mental Health & Community/Voluntary Sector
