The decision was made after considering objections regarding lighting glare from Meaching Road residents. The council agreed to install light guards on all perimeter lighting and use LED lights with motion sensors to mitigate concerns.

Southdown, Gote Lane, Ringmer

The committee approved planning application LW230360 for the demolition of an existing dwelling and the erection of one detached and two semi-detached dwellings. Despite significant objections from local residents and the Ringmer Parish Council regarding privacy, parking, and the impact on the South Downs National Park, the committee decided in favour of the development, subject to conditions including the removal of permitted development rights and the maintenance of landscaping buffers.

18a Firle Road, Seaford

The committee refused planning application LW230699 for the rebuilding of the front garden wall and relocation of vehicular and pedestrian access points. The decision was based on the adverse impact on the East Blatchington Conservation Area, the importance of preserving the historical flint wall, and the potential for setting a precedent that could undermine the conservation area's integrity.

Land Adjacent to Tye Chalet, Tye Close, Saltdean

The committee deferred planning application LW230372 for the erection of a three-story dwelling. Concerns were raised about the design's impact on the South Downs National Park, the bulkiness of the proposed building, and the stability of the chalk embankment. The committee decided to delegate officers to negotiate a revised design that addresses these concerns and to bring the application back for further consideration.
