Re-appointment of Board Member
The board voted to recommend to Cornwall Council that Captain Charles Gurd be re-appointed as an Independent voting member of the Cornwall Harbours Board for a second three-year term. Councillor Loic Rich, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Climate Change and Deputy Group Leader - Independent Group, said that Captain Gurd had been an active and effective member. The report presented to the board noted that during his first term, Captain Gurd attended four meetings in person and three virtually, and was absent from three meetings.
The report also stated:
The outcome for customers and residents is that the ports and harbours will be managed according to best practice and this will ensure that the Harbours Board is effective, efficient and fit for purpose.
The recommendation was moved by Councillor Peter Channon, and seconded by Councillor Rich.
