The Lancashire County Council Employment Committee met on 26 June 2025, and agreed to move forward with the final stages of recruitment for the Executive Director of Resources role. They also reviewed the technical assessments of the longlisted candidates and approved the proposed arrangements for the final interview stage.

Executive Director of Resources Recruitment

The committee discussed the recruitment process for the Executive Director of Resources, and agreed to invite three candidates to the final stages of the process.

Lucy Thompson, Director of People, Sophie Fowler, Head of Service Strategic Resourcing and Workforce Planning, and Tim Farr, Senior Partner at Starfish Search, presented a report on the outcome of technical assessments for the longlisted candidates. The committee agreed to move forward with the three candidates recommended.

The committee also approved the proposed arrangements for the final interview stage, including the interview questions and presentation topic, which will be circulated to committee members for consideration prior to the interview date. The date of the interviews will be reviewed to ensure the availability of members, officers, and candidates.

At the previous meeting on 16 June 2025, the committee had agreed to amend the job description for the Executive Director of Resources role to remove the statutory Chief Finance Officer (s151) responsibilities¹. This decision followed confirmation from the interim Director of Finance and Commerce that they would remain in post for a further 12 months.
