The committee agreed to exclude the press and public from the meeting, as recommended in the agenda. This was done under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, because the discussion was likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12(A) of the Act. The committee agreed that the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighed the public interest in disclosing the information, as detailed in the Exclusion of the Press and Public report.
