Summary
The Licensing Sub-Committee of Doncaster Council met on 4 August 2025, and considered several applications for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers Licences, ultimately granting two and rejecting three. One application was withdrawn before the meeting.
Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licences
The sub-committee reviewed several applications for new Hackney Carriage1 and Private Hire Drivers Licences, each discussed in closed session due to the personal information involved.
The committee considered each application on its merits, taking into account the representations made at the hearing and the council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy, to determine whether each applicant was a 'fit and proper' person to hold a licence.
The outcomes were as follows:
- One application for a new Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Drivers Licence was rejected.
- One application for a new Hackney Carriage & Private Hire Drivers Licence was approved.
- Three applications for a new Private Hire Drivers Licence were rejected.
- Two applications for a new Private Hire Drivers Licence were approved.
- One application for a new Private Hire Drivers Licence was withdrawn.
Applicants who were not deemed 'fit and proper' were notified that they would receive the decision of the sub-committee in writing within seven working days.
