Following the interviews, the committee moved to exclude the press and public, as allowed under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972¹, to discuss the candidates in private. This exclusion was justified under paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act, which pertains to information relating to individuals.
