The Site Viewing Working Party met to view two sites in Emsworth, the subject of planning applications, following requests from a ward member that the applications be determined by the Planning Committee. For both sites, the Working Party resolved to provide additional information to the Planning Committee, specifically confirmation that the site measurements, dimensions and placement of the proposed property are correctly shown on the submitted plans.
Land north of 6, Emsworth House Close, Emsworth
The Working Party viewed the site north of 6, Emsworth House Close, where the proposal is to erect a single three-bedroom dwelling. The Working Party agreed to provide additional information to the Planning Committee. The agenda notes that the committee papers and reports relating to this application will be available in the agenda for the Planning Committee meeting on 11 September 2025.
The Working Party resolved that, based on the site inspection and information available at the time, the following additional information be provided to the Planning Committee:
Confirmation that the site measurements, dimensions and placement of the proposed property are correctly shown on the submitted plans.
Land south of Furlonge House, Emsworth House Close, Emsworth, PO10 7JR
The Working Party viewed the site south of Furlonge House, Emsworth House Close, where the proposal is to erect a detached three-bedroom house, including work to an oak tree subject to a Tree Preservation Order1. The proposed work to the tree includes pruning of the lateral canopy, a reduction in length of 2.5m to suitable growth points for the southern and south-western quadrants of the tree's canopy (with branch diameter not to exceed BS:3998 recommendations2), raising the western and south-western canopy to 6m from ground level (excluding any scaffold limbs), and removing dead, damaged, or hanging branches.
