The Overview and Scrutiny Committee of Redditch Council met on 1 September 2025 to discuss several reports before they were scheduled to be discussed at an upcoming Executive Committee meeting. These included reports on the disposal of housing assets, the voluntary sector grants scheme, the Regulator of Social Housing Inspection Report and Housing Improvement Plan, the Housing Consumer Standards Report, and two reports regarding findings from the Housing Ombudsman. The committee was also scheduled to discuss updates from various task groups, short sharp reviews, and working groups.
Disposal of Housing Revenue Account Assets
The committee was scheduled to discuss the disposal of Housing Revenue Account assets at two locations:
- Four garages at Ashorne Close, Matchborough
- 53 Parsons Road, Southcrest and 53 Crabbs Cross Lane, Crabbs Cross
The report pack noted that these items may contain exempt information and may need to be considered in a closed session.
Voluntary Sector Grants Scheme 2026/27 to 2029/30
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss the Voluntary Sector Grants Scheme for 2026/27 to 2029/30.
The council was scheduled to consider the terms of reference for the grants panel1, and a list of VCS Grant awards for 2023 to 2026.
Data from Citizens Advice was also scheduled to be discussed.
Regulator of Social Housing Inspection Report and Housing Improvement Plan
The committee was scheduled to discuss the Regulator of Social Housing Inspection Report and Housing Improvement Plan.
Quarter 1 Housing Consumer Standards Report
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss the Quarter 1 Housing Consumer Standards Report.
Adoption of Fixed Penalty Charge for breach of Community Protection Notice
The committee was scheduled to discuss the adoption of a fixed penalty charge for breach of a Community Protection Notice2.
Housing Ombudsman Findings Reports
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to discuss the Housing Ombudsman Findings Report 1 Ref 202417927 and Housing Ombudsman Findings Report 2 Ref 202331009.
Executive Committee's Work Programme
The committee was scheduled to review the Executive Committee's Work Programme to select items for scrutiny.
