The Licensing Sub-Committee of Doncaster Council met on 8 September 2025, to consider several reviews of existing private hire and Hackney carriage licenses. The meeting was scheduled to take place at the Council Chamber, Civic Office, Waterdale, Doncaster and the report pack indicates that members of the public and press may have been excluded for some of the meeting. The councillors scheduled to be in attendance were Councillor Karl Hughes, Councillor Nick Allen, Councillor Steven Plater and Councillor Howard Rimmer.

Licensing Reviews

The Sub-Committee was scheduled to review a number of private hire and Hackney carriage licenses. Each of the reviews was listed on the agenda with reference to exclusion paragraph 1 of the Local Government Act 1972¹, meaning that the press and public may have been excluded from the meeting while these items were discussed.

The licensing reviews scheduled were:

• Review of an Existing Private Hire Drivers Licence and Review of an Existing Private Hire Vehicle Licence at 10.00 am.
• Review of an Existing Private Hire Drivers Licence and Review of an Existing Private Hire Vehicle Licence at 10.30 am.
• Review of an Existing Private Hire Drivers Licence and Review of an Existing Private Hire Vehicle Licence at 11.00 am.
• Review of an Existing Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Drivers Licence and Review of an Existing Hackney Carriage / Private Hire Vehicle Licence at 11.30 am.
• Review of an Existing Private Hire Drivers Licence and Review of an Existing Private Hire Vehicle Licence at 12 Noon.
