Minutes of the Previous Meeting

Two registered speakers, one supported by Councillor K Sandhu, an Earlsdon Ward Councillor, raised objections, while the applicant's representative spoke in favour.
- Mercia Business Village, Torwood Close - Application PL/2025/0000722/FULM: The committee delegated the granting of planning permission to the Strategic Lead for Planning for the demolition of existing buildings and the erection of purpose-built student accommodation (1,006 units) at Mercia Business Village on Torwood Close, subject to conditions, including amended conditions (17 and 18) as set out in the Late Representation document, and the completion of a Section 106 legal agreement1 to secure contributions. The Strategic Lead for Planning was authorised to agree to any necessary amendments to the Section 106 legal agreement and planning conditions in consultation with the Chair.
- Land Off Abbotts Lane And Upper Hill Street - Application PL/2024/0001921/RVC: Planning permission was granted for a full planning application of 212 dwellings and an outline planning application for new residential development up to 478 units on land off Abbots Lane and Upper Hill Street, subject to conditions. The late representation document summarised the previous reasons for refusal of the outline application and provided additional supporting information, including a road safety audit.
- Wisteria Lodge, Earlsdon Avenue South - Application PL/2025/0000263/OUTM: The committee delegated the granting of planning permission to the Strategic Lead for Planning for the redevelopment of land at Wisteria Lodge, Earlsdon Avenue South to form residential care home or independent/assisted living flats for the over 55s, subject to conditions and the completion of a Section 106 legal agreement to secure contributions. Three registered speakers objected to the proposal, while a representative for the applicant spoke in support.
Corpus Christi Church, Langbank Avenue - Application PL/2025/0000689/PAEC: Prior approval was granted for the erection of a 22.5m lattice mast with headframe, antennas, dishes, cabinets, and ancillary development at Corpus Christi Church, Langbank Avenue, subject to conditions. The late representation document provided the applicant's response to a question regarding the removal of any equipment the mast would replace, additional responses from neighbours, and further explanation of how the proposal complied with Policy DE1 and C2 of the Coventry Local Plan 2017.
Councillor Ram Parkash Lakha OBE declared that he had been contacted by objectors to the application.
