Here is a summary of the scheduled discussions for the Development Management Committee meeting on 10 September 2025. The agenda included consideration of planning applications, appeals, and a review of applications handled via delegated authority. Of particular note was the application concerning repair works to the Ceredigion Museum.
Ceredigion Museum Repairs
The committee was scheduled to discuss a request by Mr Gareth Evans for listed building consent for external and internal repairs, rehabilitation and refurbishment of external walls, replacement roofworks and rooflights, and associated works at Ceredigion Museum, also known as the Coliseum, at 57 Terrace Road, Aberystwyth, SY23 2AQ. Mr Gethin Roberts of DB3 Architecture is listed as the agent for the application.
The report pack noted that the museum is located in central Aberystwyth and comprises grade II listed buildings. The building also forms an integral part of the Aberystwyth Conservation Area.
The proposed repairs were divided into external and internal work:

Responses to consultation included support from Historic Buildings and Places, and Aberystwyth Town Council. The Theatres Trust agreed with the methodology for the works.
The report pack stated that the council's ecologist proposed one condition and four informative notes, and that a third party had raised concerns that the limited funds available would be insufficient to ensure that the necessary work is carried out to the standard that will preserve the building for the future.
The report pack stated that the Local Planning Authority was recommending that the application is approved, subject to conditions, and that the application would need to be referred to Cadw3.
