Summary
The Chief Officer Performance Review Panel is scheduled to meet on Tuesday 30 September 2025. The agenda includes the election of a chair, declarations of interest from members, and a review of the Chief Officer's performance. The public and press may be excluded from part of the meeting.
Performance Review
The panel is expected to discuss the performance of the Chief Officer. However, the agenda indicates that the press and public may be excluded from this part of the meeting because it involves likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 to Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (information relating to an individual)
. The agenda states that it is considered that, in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
Declarations of Interest
The panel is expected to note any declarations of interest from Assembly Members. According to the report pack, Assembly Members are required to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests1 in specific items on the agenda, as well as any other relevant interests, including those arising from gifts and hospitality received.
The report pack includes a list of offices held by Assembly Members that are considered disclosable pecuniary interests. These include:

The report pack quotes Paragraph 11 of the GLA's Code of Conduct, stating that an Assembly Member with a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest in a matter under consideration must disclose that interest and must not (i) participate, or participate any further, in any discussion of the matter at the meeting; or (ii) participate in any vote, or further vote, taken on the matter at the meeting
unless they have obtained a dispensation from the GLA's Monitoring Officer.
Other Business
The agenda allows for discussion of any other business that the Chair, Len Duvall AM, considers urgent.
