Lease of Blythe Bridge Library
The committee approved the letting of the premises at Blythe Bridge Library to Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) for a term of five years at a peppercorn rent. The final details of the lease were delegated to the Assistant Director of Commercial and Assets for approval.
Lee Wells explained to the committee that the library was previously managed by the Care and Fun Club, but they had served notice on their occupation. For an interim period, the library was managed by the County Council. Following a procurement exercise, MPFT were successful in their bid to take over the running of the library.
Councillor Lodge proposed that the committee approve the letting of the premises to MPFT for a five-year term at a peppercorn rent, for the express purpose of running a community managed library.
