The Economy and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee of Shropshire Council met on 15 September 2025 to discuss their work programme for the coming year, and to review the Highways Contract. The committee was also scheduled to receive questions from the public and from council members.
Highways Contract Review
The committee was scheduled to discuss the Highways Contract Review. This was to be an exempt report of the Highways Contract Review Task and Finish Group, meaning that the press and public were to be excluded from the meeting during its consideration.
Work Programme
The committee was scheduled to consider proposals for their work programme for 2025-2026. The high-level work programme included a number of topics for consideration:

Public Question Time
The committee was scheduled to receive any questions or petitions from the public, provided that notice had been given by 12 noon on Tuesday, 9th September 2025. At the previous meeting, a public question was received from Mr John Palmer regarding garden waste collection annual charges for 2025/26, and a petition was received from Ms Olly Rose and Mr Theo Merchant requesting a skateboard facility and pump track in Oswestry.

The committee was scheduled to receive any questions from council members, provided that notice had been given by 12 noon on Tuesday, 9th September 2025.

The committee was scheduled to consider the minutes of the Economy and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting held on 10th July 2025.
