Action Plan Updates

The Bedfont and Feltham Area Forum were scheduled to discuss updates to the area action plan. These action plan updates included:

Baber Bridge

An update on the Baber Bridge project was scheduled to be discussed. The report pack stated that a consultant had been selected and the award of the contract was in its final stages, with a view to completing a preliminary design in the next 12 months. The aim was to complete all the legal and procedural requirements for the award of the contract by the end of July.

Feltham High Street

The forum was scheduled to discuss a strategic update on Feltham High Street, focusing on anti-social behaviour (ASB). The report pack stated that the Feltham High Street area remains a central focus of community safety and partnership efforts. A variety of targeted engagements and interventions are underway to address anti-social behaviour, support local businesses, and inform both residents and traders on how to report concerns and access support properly.

The forum was scheduled to hear that Hounslow Council was collaborating closely with the Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, local partners, and colleagues within the London Borough of Hounslow and from neighbouring boroughs to deliver a coordinated and sustained response.

Other points that were scheduled to be discussed were:

  • High Street Engagement and Joint Partnership Working: The high street is a regular agenda item at area-based meetings, where emerging issues are discussed with stakeholders, partners, and council colleagues. A dedicated sub-group has been established to monitor and address ASB and safety concerns on a weekly basis, with a review scheduled for the end of September to determine if further efforts are necessary.
  • Business and Community Engagement: A Safer Business Walk, organised jointly by the Safer Communities Team and SNT, has been arranged to connect with local businesses, keeping them informed, supported, and involved in joint efforts to combat ASB.
  • Ongoing Liaison with The Feltham Centre: Regular meetings were scheduled with the management team of The Feltham Centre to share updates and address ASB issues affecting the premises.
  • Library Engagement: Work with borough-wide libraries, including Feltham Library, to support them with ongoing ASB issues.
  • Intelligence Sharing and CCTV Coordination: Close cooperation with the CCTV team, sharing intelligence with police and partners to identify and take appropriate action against key individuals involved in ASB.
  • Youth Engagement and Summer Planning: A weekly multi-agency meeting is scheduled to plan and implement activities during the summer holidays, with an emphasis on early engagement and diversionary work targeting young people.
  • Parental Support: In partnership with local services, support for families through initiatives such as the Surviving My Adolescent course, designed to assist parents facing challenges with teenage behaviour.

Derelict Cash Machine

The removal of a derelict cash machine and signage on Hounslow Road was scheduled for discussion. The report pack stated that Hounslow Highways had identified the owner of the cash machine and sent a request to the company for removal.

A planning application (ref: P/2025/1173) and associated advertisement application were approved earlier in June at this location (address- Pavement o/s 15 Station Parade, Hounslow Road, Feltham, TW14 9DF). The scheme sought removal of the defunct telephone-cash kiosk here and an installation of a new communications kiosk with integrated advertising display.

Open Forum Updates

The Bedfont and Feltham Area Forum was scheduled to discuss updates to questions raised in the open forum at the meeting on 10 July 2025.

One question came from Alma Shingadia regarding inappropriate parking during school drop off and pick up in Ruscombe Way near Southville Primary School causing obstructions for residents and disabled residents. The forum was scheduled to hear that 64 parking control notices1 had been issued since January, including 12 on Ruscombe Way.

More clarity was requested on the intention to utilise more greenbelt land for building as there was no response to the question on use of Hatton Fields green space.

Ann asked why the high street was filthy, commenting on the margin of dirt around every dustbin, and open spaces.

A resident asked whether dimming street lights in certain areas was moving the problems of crime and anti social behaviour to these areas and what the criteria was for deciding where street lights should be dimmed.
