The Eastbourne Borough Council Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application for a new premises licence for The Wolf on the Corner, 58 South Street, Eastbourne, BN21 4XB. The committee decided to grant the licence, noting that Sussex Police had agreed to additional licence conditions with the applicant, and that the applicant had engaged in extensive mediation with local residents.

The sub-committee granted a new premises licence to Drublik Limited, for The Wolf on the Corner at 58 South Street. The application was for the retail sale of alcohol, for consumption on and off the premises, between 12:00 and 23:00, Monday to Sunday, with opening hours until 00:00.

The report of the chief executive noted that representations had been received from four members of the public, with concerns relating to the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety and the prevention of public nuisance. One representation was withdrawn after mediation.

The minutes of the meeting record that the sub-committee were assured that the applicant had not sought permission for outside drinking in their application, and that Sussex Police had made it a condition that alcohol would not be permitted outside.

The Licensing Sub-Committee recognised the amount of attention to detail that was in the application and that extensive mediation had taken place. They believed the licensing objectives² would not be undermined and that it was proportionate to grant the licence.
