The Central and North Buckinghamshire Area Planning Committee met on Wednesday to discuss planning applications for Whaddon Church of England School and 129 Walton Road, Aylesbury. Both applications were approved, subject to conditions outlined in the case officer's reports.

Whaddon Church of England School

The committee approved application 25/02372/APP for the replacement of eight windows at Whaddon Church of England School. The school is located on Stock Lane in Whaddon.

The planning officer's report noted that the school building is a non-designated heritage asset and a locally listed building within the Whaddon Conservation Area. The council's heritage officer said that the proposed timber windows were of a similar design to the existing windows and would largely preserve the existing character of the building .

The report also noted that the site is within an amber Great Crested Newt impact risk zone, but officers considered it highly unlikely that the replacement windows would impact the species.

Whaddon Parish Council supported the application, stating that the school is an important historical building and that they wanted to preserve its character .

129 Walton Road, Aylesbury

The committee approved application 25/02236/APP for the demolition of an existing single-storey element and the erection of a new single-storey rear extension at 129 Walton Road, Aylesbury.

The planning officer's report stated that the proposed extension would be modest in scale and built with materials matching the existing dwelling. It also noted that the existing parking arrangements at the rear of the property would remain unaffected.

Aylesbury Town Council raised no objections to the application.

Councillor Susan Morgan, a fellow ward member of the applicant, declared a personal interest but confirmed she was not predetermined on the application and would participate in the deliberation.
