Here is a summary of the items scheduled for discussion at the Castle Morpeth Community Partnership meeting. The meeting was scheduled to include discussion of community governance, budget and corporate plan consultation, and parking issues in Ponteland. Budget and Corporate Plan
The Head of Policy and Performance and the Head of Communications and Engagement were scheduled to be present to share information on the council's public consultation and engagement methods for setting priorities to inform its Budget and Corporate Plan. Car Parking in Ponteland
The meeting agenda included an informal discussion regarding car parking in Ponteland. Two specific issues were listed:
- Steps being taken to address indiscriminate parking related to Newcastle Airport
- Weekend parking at Ponteland Leisure Centre
Petitions
The meeting was scheduled to include updates on the following petitions:
- Speeding on Hexham Road in Heddon: According to the report pack, a
phase 1 scheme to investigate speed reduction measures on Hexham Road is included in the 2025/26 Local Transport Plan programme. This follows concerns raised by Heddon-on-the-Wall Parish Council.
The report pack stated that two options have been identified, including physical traffic calming measures and improved signage. - Curly Kews, Morpeth: inclusion of ARMCO barrier in order to protect pedestrians and vulnerable road users: The report pack stated that a scheme had been completed during the summer holidays on Curly Kews Bank to address the issues raised in the petition. According to the report pack, the existing kerbs have been replaced with Trief Kerbs1, the existing barriers have been replaced behind the new kerbs, and the footway has been resurfaced behind the barriers. > The higher kerbs will now stop any vehicles that may have previously crashed, from hitting the barriers and also from entering the footway. > Public reports pack 29th-Sep-2025 18.00 Castle Morpeth Community Partnership

Community Governance Review
The Head of Members Services, Elections and Deputy Monitoring Officer and the Elections Consultant, were scheduled to be in attendance to provide information on the Community Governance Review.
