The Licensing (Licensing and Gambling) Sub-Committee of Southampton Council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 to discuss an application for a variation of premises licence, and other standard agenda items. The sub-committee is composed of three members drawn from the Licensing Committee, which includes Councillors M Bunday, Mrs Blatchford, Cooper, Cox, Kenny, Kloker Laurent, Moulton, Noon and Whitbread. The sub-committee is responsible for licences for which the council is responsible under the Licensing Act 2003¹ and Gambling Act 2005².

Application for Variation of Premises Licence - Porters

The sub-committee is scheduled to discuss an application for a variation of premises licence for Porters located at Unit 1, Havelock Chambers, 20-22 Queens Terrace Southampton SO14 3BQ.

The agenda for the meeting notes that at a predetermined point during the consideration of all items, the Sub-Committee may move into private session in order to receive legal advice when determining issues. Following the private session, the parties to the hearing, press and public will be invited to return, at which time the matter will be determined and the decision of the Sub-Committee will be announced.

The meeting is scheduled to begin with the election of a chair. Councillors will then be asked to declare any personal or pecuniary interests in any matter included on the agenda, in accordance with the Localism Act 2011³ and the council's code of conduct. The sub-committee will then approve and sign the minutes of the meeting held on 10 September 2025.
