Councillor Simon Anthony Knoyle has approved grants to the Trustees of Gwynfi Bowls Club CIO and Onllwyn Community Council, to subsidise the cost of rent for the Gwynfi Bowls Club pavilion and Pantyffordd Community Hall respectively. The grants are for approximately 95% of the rent, with the clubs expected to pay the remainder.

Miscellaneous Grant Fund Applications

Councillor Simon Anthony Knoyle approved the grant applications set out in Appendix 1 of the Miscellaneous Grant Fund Applications report. The council has a Miscellaneous Grants Scheme to support individual applications for grants. Each application is considered on its merits, and the committee only approves applications for financial assistance from voluntary or charitable organisations which are committed to voluntary endeavours of a local nature. Applications from individuals may be considered where both the person and the community derive a benefit.

Gwynfi Bowls Club CIO

The Trustees of Gwynfi Bowls Club CIO have applied for grant assistance in relation to the lease of the Bowls Pavilion at Blaengwynfi Recreation Park. They requested £715 per annum, which is increasing from £650 per annum. It was proposed that a grant of £680 per annum be offered, which is the equivalent of approximately 95% of the new rent. The club will pay the remainder of the rent. The P&R board approved a 100% grant on 18 February 2016.

Onllwyn Community Council

Onllwyn Community Council have applied for grant assistance in relation to the lease of Pantyffordd Community Hall. They requested £3,300 per annum, which is increasing from £3,000 per annum. It was proposed that a grant of £3,140 per annum be offered, which is the equivalent of approximately 95% of the new rent, with the Community Council paying the remainder. A decision of the Cabinet (Finance) Sub Committee on Wednesday 8 May provided a grant of £2,900 for one year only, and was to be further considered for the next financial year once the lease agreement and charitable arrangements have been finalised. Payment of £100 per annum is to be paid by the community council.
