October 9, 2025 View on council websiteSummary
The Taxi Licensing Sub-Committee of Woking Council is scheduled to meet on 9 October 2025. The meeting will include a review of a taxi driver's licence, and approval of the minutes from a previous meeting. The public and press may be excluded for part of the meeting.
Taxi Driver Licence Review
The sub-committee is scheduled to review a taxi driver licence. Laura McCulloch is listed as the reporting person. The report pack states that the press and public may be excluded from the meeting during the discussion of this item, because it may involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A, to the Local Government Act 19721.
Approval of Minutes
The Taxi Licensing Sub-Committee is scheduled to approve the minutes of the meeting held on 8 September 2025. At that meeting, Councillor Rob Leach was elected Chairman of the Sub-Committee for the remainder of the Municipal Year, and Councillor Steve Howes was appointed Vice-Chairman. The sub-committee also received a report from Laura McCulloch regarding an application for a Hackney Carriage Driver Licence by Mr R, and subsequently declined the application. The report pack states that Mr R's previous licence had been revoked in 2010 due to two sexual offence convictions whilst working as a licenced driver. Amanda Francis, the Council's Solicitor, joined the Sub-Committee to provide legal advice after the decision had been made.
