The External Partnerships Select Committee are scheduled to meet on 7 October 2025, to discuss Accent Housing's maintenance performance, receive a presentation from the Royal British Legion (RBL) Camberley Branch, and review the Committee's work programme.
Accent Housing: Maintenance Performance
The committee is scheduled to receive an update on Accent Housing's maintenance performance. This follows a previous workshop held on 11 April 2025, between the committee, Accent Housing, and Sureserve, a building services provider.
The planned discussion includes:
- Updates on changes implemented to improve service during the upcoming winter.
- Information on the outcomes of a boiler-stock analysis being conducted by Sureserve, and how this relates to Accent's decarbonisation ambitions for its housing stock.
- A general performance update on the Accent Maintenance Service from Sureserve and Ian Williams, a construction and property services company.
- An overview of Accent's current strategy for public realm and estate improvements.
Royal British Legion - Camberley Branch
Patrick Mathe, Royal British Legion (RBL) Camberley Branch Chairman, is scheduled to give a presentation to the committee. The presentation is expected to summarise the work of the branch in the six months since its relaunch. Councillors may offer suggestions as to how they and the council could provide support to the RBL.
Committee Work Programme
The Committee Work Programme is scheduled to be reviewed. The document lists upcoming topics for discussion, including:
- Affinity Water and South East Water are scheduled to attend a meeting on 13 January to discuss demand management, drought planning, and network resilience.
- Surrey Police are scheduled to attend a Crime and Disorder meeting. Detective Ryan Scott, Surrey Heath Borough Commander, Surrey Police, Councillor Alan Ashbery, Homes, Planning & Enforcement Portfolio Holder, Gavin Chinniah, Head of Planning, Housing, Corporate Enforcement and Parking, and Richard Wilson, Council appointee to the Surrey Police and Crime Panel are all expected to be in attendance. The aim of the meeting is to scrutinise the current performance of policing within Surrey Heath, and Surrey Heath Beat's actions against the Police and Crime Panel for Surrey 2021-2025.
- The Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care System is scheduled to be discussed in July 2026. The discussion is expected to cover the role of the council on the Integrated Care Partnership1, the role of new Unitary authorities within the ICS, and what patient involvement and co-production to services will look like within the new ICS.
The Committee may consider inviting South East Water to its meeting on 13 January 2026.
The report pack also lists items for consideration for future meetings, including Housing Associations and Revenue Grant Holders, as well as possible smaller agenda items such as the Surrey Wildlife Trust.
