The Hounslow South, Isleworth and Osterley & Spring Grove Area Forum convened to address local concerns and updates. The agenda included discussions on policing, highways, and waste management, alongside an open forum for public questions and ward-specific updates. The meeting also provided a platform for residents to engage with councillors and council officers on various community issues.
Police Update
Farzana Wangde from Safer Community was scheduled to provide updates on recent incidents in Osterley and Spring Grove, as well as an assault in Hounslow South. Urgent concerns were expected to be addressed during this segment.
Hounslow Highways Update
Tim Hurley from Hounslow Highways was due to deliver a strategic overview of local roadworks and highway maintenance. The scheduled discussion points included:
- An update on potholes and surface conditions across the three wards.
- Clarification on the local authority's responsibilities regarding roadworks.
- Guidance on how residents and councillors can effectively raise concerns.
A Q&A session with Hounslow Highways representatives was also planned.
Waste Management and Enforcement Update
Tim Hurley was also scheduled to provide an update on waste management and enforcement, covering:
- Fly-tipping, waste, and recycling enforcement.
- A summary of enforcement actions and fines issued.
- The use of CCTV to monitor problem areas.
- Engagement with local businesses to reduce commercial fly-tipping.
Open Forum
The agenda included an open forum for questions from the public, where residents and stakeholders could raise local concerns, questions, or suggestions. Councillors were scheduled to address questions submitted in advance, with the caveat that individual cases could not be discussed during the public forum.
Ward-Specific Updates
Councillors were expected to provide ward-specific updates, including:
- Good news stories and updates from each ward.
- Ideas for new community projects or initiatives.
- Highlights of recent local successes.
Previous Meeting Minutes
The minutes from the meeting held on 26 June 2025 were included in the Public Reports Pack. Matters arising from these minutes were also scheduled for discussion. The minutes included a discussion of knife crime in Hounslow, following the death of Dara Omar, a West Thames College student.
The minutes also included a discussion of the Talk Hounslow platform, and access to Area Forum information for residents without IT access.
The previous meeting also included a discussion of the River Thames water extraction project, and a consultation on the construction of a new water reservoir in the Lee Valley. Councillor John Stroud-Turp raised concerns about the consultation's framing, and the environmental impact of the project.
