Summary
The Hanworth Area Forum was scheduled to meet to discuss community issues, updates to the action plan, and a community spotlight segment. The forum was also set to include an open forum for residents to raise local concerns. Prior to the meeting a market place was scheduled, offering residents the opportunity to visit stalls from council services and community groups.
Open Forum
The agenda included an open forum, where members of the public could raise matters of local concern. According to the agenda, detailed discussions or responses may not have been possible at the meeting, but points raised would be noted and used to inform the work of the Area Forum. The protocols for the Open Forum stated that speakers would be allowed at the discretion of Councillor Bishnu Gurung, Chair of the Hanworth Area Forum, with one contribution per person per item typically allowed. Items already on the main agenda were not to be raised in the open forum.
The draft minutes of the previous meeting on 21 July 2025, included in the reports pack, recorded concerns raised by residents in the open forum including:
- The condition of the slip road on the A316 towards Sunbury, citing debris, rubbish and overgrown bushes.
- Issues caused by inappropriately parked Lime Bikes, and underused parking bays.
- Fly-tipping on Crispin Road, and a request for the installation of
No Fly Tipping
signage. - A traveller encampment in Ludlow Park, and a request for stronger security measures.
- Overgrown verges, green spaces and pavements with weeds.
- Irregular street cleaning.
- The proposed redevelopment of the Muller Dairy site and lack of pedestrian crossings.
Community Spotlight
The forum was scheduled to include a 'Community Spotlight', offering insight from a local voluntary community support group on their work in the community and how to take part and volunteer. At the previous meeting on 21 July 2025, Emily Miller invited voluntary community groups to contact her to showcase their organisation and make residents aware of their community work and how they could volunteer for the group.
