The Taxi & General Licensing Sub-Committee of West Northamptonshire Council was scheduled to meet on 2 October 2025 to discuss a street trading consent application. The Sub-Committee was also expected to appoint a chair for the meeting and to note any declarations of interest from members.
Street Trading Consent Application
The Sub-Committee was scheduled to consider a street trading consent application.
The agenda noted that the report pack contained exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 19721, which relates to information about an individual. The agenda stated that, should the Sub-Committee have decided not to make a decision in public, it was recommended to resolve as follows:
That under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of business on the grounds that, if the public and press were present, it would be likely that exempt information falling under the provisions of Schedule 12A, Part I, Paragraph 1 would be disclosed to them, and that in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
Other Matters
The agenda also included the following items:
- Appointment of a Chair for the meeting.
- Declarations of interest. Councillors were asked to declare any interests they had in the items under consideration.
- Exclusion of the press and public from the meeting for particular items of business, due to the discussion of exempt information, as defined in the Local Government Act 1972.
