The Planning and Development Control Committee of Hammersmith and Fulham Council met on Tuesday 11 November 2025, approving three planning applications. The committee granted permission for a variation of condition at 50 Brook Green, the change of use and refurbishment of Chivas House into a care home, and the redevelopment of 316 Wandsworth Bridge Road into a mixed-use building.
50 Brook Green, London W6 7BJ, Brook Green
Permission was granted for a variation of condition at 50 Brook Green, London W6 7BJ. The application sought amendments to an existing planning permission for the change of use from office to residential. The approved changes include a reduction in the number of residential units from 33 to 32, alterations to unit sizes and mix, increases to lightwell widths, relocation of a gym, and modifications to extensions and landscaping. The decision was made unanimously by the committee, with the Director of Planning and Property authorised to grant planning permission upon completion of a satisfactory legal agreement and subject to conditions.
Chivas House, 72 Chancellors Road, London W6 9RS, Hammersmith Broadway
The committee unanimously approved the change of use and refurbishment of Chivas House, 72 Chancellors Road, London W6 9RS, from an office building to a 45-bedroom care home for older people. The approved plans include alterations to the building's facades, removal of external ducts, modifications to windows, and replacement of roof plant and PV panels. The decision was made subject to the completion of a satisfactory legal agreement and conditions outlined in the report, as amended by an addendum. Councillor Callum Nimmo declared an interest as the applicant had attended his ward surgery, but confirmed he would consider the application on its merits and participated in the vote.
316 Wandsworth Bridge Road, London SW6 2TZ, Palace and Hurlingham
Permission was granted for the redevelopment of 316 Wandsworth Bridge Road, London SW6 2TZ, into a four-storey mixed-use building comprising commercial floorspace at ground level and nine residential units above. The decision was made subject to conditions outlined in the report, as amended by an addendum and further conditions added at the committee meeting. A key amendment introduced by Councillor Alex Karmel was a new condition to prevent the conversion of the ground-floor commercial unit into additional residential units under permitted development rights without further planning permission. This condition was carried by a vote of five to two. The Director of Planning and Property was authorised to grant planning permission subject to these conditions and the completion of a legal agreement.
