The Planning and Development Control Committee of Hammersmith and Fulham Council met on 11 November 2025, and approved a variation to a prior planning permission, and the change of use and refurbishment of an existing building. Councillors also approved the redevelopment of an existing site, but added a new condition to prevent the commercial unit from being converted into additional residential units without planning permission.
Planning Decisions
316 Wandsworth Bridge Road
The committee approved the redevelopment of the existing site at 316 Wandsworth Bridge Road to erect a four-storey mixed-use building. The building will have commercial floorspace (Class E1) at part of the ground floor, with nine residential units (Class C32) at ground, first, second and third floor levels. The development will also have associated cycle parking, refuse storage and amenity space.
Councillor Alex Karmel proposed a new condition:
to prevent the conversion of the commercial unit (Class E use) permitted on the ground floor into additional residential units under permitted development rights without applying for planning permission. This was to enable the cumulative impact of the scheme to be considered by the officers. Authority to be granted to the officers to secure this by the appropriate wording.
The committee voted 5 for and 2 against, and the new condition was carried. The committee then voted to approve the officer recommendations for approval as amended by the addendum and the committee.
50 Brook Green
The committee approved a variation of condition 2 (plans) of planning permission ref: 2020/01849/FUL for 50 Brook Green. The changes include:
- reduction in the number of residential units from 33 to 32, including alteration to size and mix of units
- increase to width of existing lightwells to the front of Building 1
- relocation of gym to Building 5
- formation of new entrances along ground floor comprising of doors to duplex units from the main courtyard
- removal of lean to and rear buildings of Buildings 2 and 3 and replace with new part 1, part 2 storey flat roof extensions
- provision of ground floor amenity space adjacent to Oxford Gate with new doors to the rear of Buildings 2 and 3 to allow access to private amenity space,
- alterations to landscaping including provision of new front gardens to courtyard units
- relocation of bike and bin stores
- relocation existing ramp to Building 1 and addition of soft landscaping
- removal of consented glazed lift and replaced with a solid infill in between Buildings 2 and 3 to match existing facade
- omission of sub-station from Building 6
- changes to fenestration to match designs of the existing buildings
- replacement of obscured glazing at first floor level of Building 4 with clear glazing.
The committee voted to approve the officer recommendations for approval as amended by the addendum.
Chivas House, 72 Chancellors Road
The committee approved the change of use and refurbishment of the existing office building at Chivas House, 72 Chancellors Road to create a 45-bedroom care home for older people. The plans also include alterations to the facades, including the removal of ducts on the south and east elevations, alterations to openings at ground floor level, alterations to the size of windows at first, second and third floor levels, replacement of sections of curtain walling, and provision of replacement roof plant and PV panels. There will also be associated cycle parking, car parking and landscaping.
Councillor Callum Nimmo declared that the applicant had attended his ward surgery and shown him a presentation on the application, but that he had not expressed a view on the application and would consider it with an open mind.
The committee voted to approve the officer recommendations for approval as amended by the addendum.
