The Ashington & Blyth Community Partnership met to discuss sports development, regeneration projects, and a number of other local issues. The meeting was scheduled to include presentations on sports development in Ashington and Newbiggin, as well as the Blyth Celebrates and Animating Ashington projects. Councillors were also asked to nominate members for appointment to outside bodies.
Blyth Celebrates and Animating Ashington
Rob Strettle, Regeneration Manager, and Wendy Scott, Economic Development and Growth, were scheduled to give a presentation on Blyth Celebrates and Animating Ashington. Blyth is a town in Northumberland, while Ashington is a town and civil parish in the same county.
Sports Development
Kathie Keady was scheduled to give a presentation on sports development in Ashington and Newbiggin.
Appointments to Outside Bodies
The agenda included a request for nominations for representatives to the following organisations:
- Blyth Valley Disabled Forum
- Community and Voluntary Action Blyth Valley
- Northumberland Community Voluntary Action
Petitions
The meeting was scheduled to receive any new petitions, consider reports on previously received petitions, and receive updates on petitions for which a report was previously considered, specifically regarding a safe crossing on the A197 in Ashington.
Public Question Time
The agenda noted that the meeting was scheduled to reply to any questions received from members of the public which have been submitted in writing in advance of the meeting. It was noted that questions can be asked about issues for which the council has a responsibility. The agenda also included a list of reasons why a question may possibly be rejected.
