The Chief Officers Employment Committee of Cornwall Council is scheduled to meet on Friday 5 December 2025. The main business of the meeting will be to discuss the mid-year appraisal of the Chief Executive, and the recruitment of a Chief Operating Officer. Chief Executive Appraisal
The committee is scheduled to discuss the mid-year appraisal of the Chief Executive for the period 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. Councillor Leigh Frost, Leader of the Council, is responsible for conducting the appraisal and reporting to the committee. The report pack states that the purpose of this item is:
for the public to be reassured that there are effective arrangements in place for the appraisal of the Council's Chief Executive.
The committee will have the option to comment on Councillor Leigh Frost's assessment of the Chief Executive's contribution, and the continuation of previously agreed priorities.
The committee is scheduled to review a report from Councillor Leigh Frost on the mid-year assessment of the Chief Executive's contribution and progress against objectives. This report is marked as exempt, meaning that it will likely be discussed in a closed session, away from the press and public.
Recruitment of Chief Operating Officer
The committee is scheduled to discuss the recruitment of a Chief Operating Officer (Section 151 Officer).1
Exclusion of Press and Public
The committee will consider a resolution to exclude the press and public from the meeting for some of the business to be discussed. This is because the agenda includes items that are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information relating to individuals.
