The Skills, Economy and Growth Scrutiny Commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday 9 December 2025 at Hackney Town Hall, and will be available to watch online. The meeting will focus on transport strategy and collaboration between the London Borough of Hackney and Transport for London (TfL), and will also include a review of the commission's work programme for the year 2025/26. Councillors will also look over the minutes from a previous meeting.
Transport Strategy and Collaboration
The meeting will include a discussion of Hackney's transport strategy for the next 10 years, and how public feedback has shaped the draft strategy. Presentations from both the London Borough of Hackney and Transport for London (TfL) are scheduled.
The presentation from the London Borough of Hackney is expected to cover the feedback received during the first phase of consultation for the transport strategy. The presentation will also cover the content of the proposed draft transport strategy, prior to wider consultation.
The presentation from Transport for London (TfL) is expected to outline the Mayor of London's key priorities for London's Transport Strategy, and any specific transport priorities for the London Borough of Hackney.
According to the agenda, the presentations will also address:
- Collaboration between Hackney and neighbouring boroughs, and TfL.
- Methods for monitoring changes to road infrastructure.
- The main roads strategy for managing traffic effectively across borough boundaries.
