The Warminster Area Board meeting scheduled for 11 December 2025 was set to discuss a range of community matters, including funding applications for local projects, updates from partner organisations, and strategic priorities for the area. A significant portion of the agenda was dedicated to financial matters, with consideration of remaining budgets and applications for Community Area Grants, Youth Grants, and Older and Vulnerable People Grants.
Area Board Funding Applications
The meeting was scheduled to consider several applications for funding. Among these was a request from Heytesbury and Codford FC for £994.00 towards portable defibrillators for their youth football teams. The Warminster Area Health and Wellbeing Forum had applied for £400.00 for partial funding support for a Health and Wellbeing website. Additionally, the Warminster youth club had requested £4,914.30 for SEN youth activities.
Chairman's Announcements and Information Items
A series of announcements and briefing notes were scheduled to be presented by the Chairman. These included the latest newsletter from Age UK Wiltshire, the impact report for Family and Community Learning for 2024-25, and an update on Beyond Dementia, the new name for Alzheimer's Support. Also on the agenda were details regarding the Wiltshire Children and Young People Health and Wellbeing Survey 2026 and information on the Wiltshire Youth Council Elections.
Wiltshire Police and Wiltshire & Swindon Road Safety Partnership Update
Presentations were expected from Wiltshire Police and the Wiltshire & Swindon Road Safety Partnership. These presentations would provide an opportunity for questions from the floor, covering policing activities and road safety initiatives within the Warminster area. The Wiltshire Police update highlighted a focus on retail crime, youth anti-social behaviour, and rural crime, with ongoing operations and community engagement planned. The Road Safety Partnership update was set to cover education on the Fatal Five
driving offences and details of traffic surveys and enforcement activities.
Partner and Community Updates
Updates were to be received from various partners and community representatives. This included reports from Town and Parish Councils, the Warminster Health and Wellbeing Forum, and Spurgeons. The Warminster Health and Wellbeing Forum's update was expected to cover their ongoing work, including the development of a website and preparations for a Health Fair in May 2026. They also intended to seek endorsement for their approach to ensuring proper consultation on the relocation of mobile breast screening units. An update from Spurgeons was also anticipated.
Area Board Priority Update
Updates were scheduled from Lead Councillors concerning the local Area Board priorities. This would provide an overview of progress and developments related to the key strategic objectives identified for the Warminster community area.
Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group (LHFIG)
The minutes and any recommendations arising from the Local Highways and Footpath Improvement Group (LHFIG) meeting held on 26 November 2025 were to be noted. This would include consideration of specific schemes and potential discussions on the contributions made by town and parish councils to LHFIG projects.
Parking Plan Consultation
A briefing note was to be presented regarding the Wiltshire Council Parking Plan 2026-2030. This plan, part of the Local Transport Plan 4 Parking Sub-Strategy, outlines key objectives such as supporting the local economy, balancing community needs with sustainable transport, and ensuring accessibility for those with mobility impairments. The plan includes proposals for parking charges, resident parking schemes, event parking, technology and innovation, signage, and support for residents with additional needs. Consultation on these proposals was ongoing, with opportunities for public comment until the end of December 2025.
