The Ethical Governance and Personnel Committee of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council met on Tuesday 20 January 2026. The meeting addressed a query regarding the wording of the domestic abuse policy and received the updated Travel and Subsistence Policy.

Domestic Abuse Workplace Policy

Consideration was given to the updated Domestic Abuse Workplace Policy and Procedure 2025-28. A query was raised by a committee member regarding the wording in paragraph 4.5 of the policy, which states that domestic abuse perpetrated by staff will not be treated as a purely private matter. Officers agreed to review this wording and make amendments if deemed necessary before publication. Authority was delegated to the Assistant Director Transformation and Communities to review and amend the specific sentence in paragraph 4.5. The domestic abuse workplace policy and procedure was approved.

Travel Policy

The committee received the updated Travel and Subsistence Policy. If approved, the policy would be implemented from 1 April 2026. The updated travel and subsistence policy was approved.
