The Tidworth Area Board is scheduled to meet on Monday 02 February 2026 to discuss a range of community matters, including updates from local partners, consideration of grant applications, and a review of the Wiltshire Council Parking Plan. The meeting will also feature information items from various organisations and a report on road safety initiatives.

Partner Updates

The board will receive updates from a variety of partners. Verbal updates are expected from Wiltshire Police, represented by Inspector Gavin Brewster, and the Police and Crime Commissioner, Philip Wilkinson OBE. Representatives from Town and Parish Councils, as well as the Ministry of Defence (MOD), are also scheduled to provide updates.

Written updates will be presented from Everleigh Parish Council and Collingbourne Kingston Parish Council. The Wiltshire Police Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) will provide an update on local policing activities, and a road safety update will also be presented. Additionally, the board will receive a quarterly video update from the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

An update is also scheduled from the Armed Forces Equine Charity regarding its local activities.

Area Board Priorities and Funding

The board will receive updates from lead members on the three priority areas: Youth, Community Safety, and Health & Wellbeing. Councillor Keith Allen will provide an update on youth matters, while Councillor Christopher Williams and Councillor Dave Lumsden will report on Health & Wellbeing and Community Safety respectively.

A significant portion of the meeting will be dedicated to Area Board Funding, with a review of remaining budgets for Community Area Grants, Youth Grants, and Older & Vulnerable People Grants. The board will consider various grant applications, including:

• Detached Youth Work Project (requested £5,000) by the Armed Forces Equine Charity.
• Youth Engagement (requested £2,000) by Young Swindon and Wiltshire, to support the upcoming detached youth work project.
• Tidworth Area Youth Committee Projects (requested £1,000) to provide a budget for the newly formed youth council to deliver small engagement projects.
• Chutes Connect Community Transport Initiative (requested £870) to support a six-month programme of community minibus trips, driver training, and promotional leaflets.
• Ludgershall Memorial Hall Improvements (requested £3,600) for hall enhancements.
• Tidworth Community Area Safety and Security Group (requested £2,000) to support projects for Older and Vulnerable Adults or Young People.

Information Items

The board will note several written information items. These include updates from Community First¹, Wiltshire Money², and Beyond Dementia³ (formerly Alzheimer's Support). Information on the Health & Wellbeing Survey 2026⁴, Youth Council Elections 2026⁵, the Wiltshire Council Parking Plan 2026 - 2030⁶, and the Wiltshire Council Consultation Portal will also be presented.

Local Highway and Footway Improvement Group (LHFIG)

The board will be asked to note the minutes from the last LHFIG meeting held on 7 January 2026. This group focuses on local highway and footway improvements across the area. There were no specific funding recommendations arising from that meeting.
