The Peckham Neighbourhood Community Meeting approved allocations for the Cleaner Greener Safer programme, the Devolved Highways Budget, and the Neighbourhoods Fund. A total of £182,204 was allocated for Cleaner Greener Safer projects, £76,190 for Devolved Highways projects, and a significant sum for various Neighbourhood Grants across Peckham and Rye Lane wards.
Cleaner Greener Safer 2026-27: Capital Funding Allocation
The meeting approved the reallocation of £182,204 to the 2026-27 Cleaner Greener Safer (CGS) budget for the Peckham Neighbourhood area. This funding comprises underspent funds from previous years, current-year programme underspend, and funds from project cancellations. A further £127,800 was allocated to specific projects within the Peckham and Rye Lane wards.

The Cleaner Greener Safer (CGS) programme, running since 2003, funds capital improvement projects that make an area cleaner, greener, or safer. Funding is allocated based on a per-councillor calculation and must be spent on permanent, physical changes. The programme aligns with the council's Fairer Greener Safer – Southwark Council Delivery Plan 2022-2026
and the Streets for People Strategy 2023-2030,
aiming to promote sustainability, regeneration, and community engagement.
Devolved Highways Budget 2026-27: Capital Funding Allocation
The meeting approved the reallocation of £76,190 to the 2026-27 Devolved Highways Budget (DHB) for the Peckham Neighbourhood area. This funding is from programmed capital expenditure and includes no additional funds from previous years' underspends.

The DHB programme allows for minor traffic and highway capital schemes, including footway and carriageway resurfacing, traffic calming measures, and accessibility improvements. This programme is also aligned with the council's sustainability and community engagement policies, supporting active travel and road safety.
Allocation of Neighbourhood Grants 2026-27 (Neighbourhoods Fund)
The meeting agreed to allocate funds from the Neighbourhoods Fund 2026-27 for the Peckham Neighbourhood area. A total of £40,000 was allocated to projects in Peckham Ward and £34,500 to projects in Rye Lane Ward.

The Neighbourhoods Fund supports revenue-funded community activity. The application process for this year was revised to use a single application form for all three programmes (Neighbourhoods Fund, CGS, and DHB), with officers allocating applications to the appropriate programme.
