The Planning Committee of Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council met on Tuesday 10 March 2026 to discuss several planning applications. The committee resolved to defer a decision on the application for Field Maple House in Desford pending further discussions with the highways authority and to secure additional landscaping. The committee also received an update on appeals progress.
Field Maple House, 34 Lindridge Lane, Desford
The committee considered an application for the erection of four detached residential dwellings with associated garaging on land to the rear of 34 Lindridge Lane, Desford. Despite the officer's recommendation to grant permission, Councillor R Allen and Councillor Webber-Jones moved for refusal, but this motion was lost. Subsequently, Councillor Bray and Councillor R Allen proposed deferring the application to allow for further discussion with the highways authority regarding the extension of the 30mph zone to cover the site's entrance and to secure mature soft landscaping on the western boundary. This motion was carried, and the application was deferred.
Appeals Progress
Members were provided with an update on the progress of various appeals.
