The Licensing Sub-Committee of Doncaster Council met on Thursday, 12 March 2026, to review existing private hire driver and vehicle licences. The committee considered four individual cases, making decisions on the suitability of each applicant to hold their respective licences.

Review of Private Hire Driver and Vehicle Licences

The committee reviewed four existing private hire driver and vehicle licences. In each case, the Sub-Committee considered the report, representations made at the hearing, and the Council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy to determine the applicant's suitability.

• Case 1: The Sub-Committee decided that the applicant was not a 'fit and proper' person to hold a Private Hire Drivers Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence.
• Case 2: The applicant was deemed a 'fit and proper' person to hold a Private Hire Drivers Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence, subject to three penalty points being added to their taxi licence.
• Case 3: The applicant was deemed a 'fit and proper' person to hold a Private Hire Drivers Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence, subject to six penalty points being added to their taxi licence.
• Case 4: The applicant was deemed a 'fit and proper' person to hold a Private Hire Drivers Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence, subject to six penalty points being added to their taxi licence.

The public and press were excluded from these discussions in accordance with Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, as exempt information relating to individuals was likely to be disclosed. The minutes of the meetings held on 9 and 17 February 2026 were approved as a true record.
